When it rains. . .

Not a good way to start the new year.

Where have you gone, Big 10?

And no hockey to boot.

You know how I know it's bad? -- Easy to see those pretty decorations on the shoulderpads.

Must mean they're lying on the ground.

Two Rose Bowl losses in two years. Ugh.

. . .and to Texas no less.

I'll be in the back, puking.

Must have been a heluva game to watch too. I'm pretty damn pissed just for the fact that I didn't get to.

I was one of the best games I have ever watched. I wish there was a way you could have watched it too.

Hey Man, its been a very long time since a Texas team won a major bowl. Moving from the Southwest Conference to the Big12 has really forced them to step it up to compete with Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Kansas. A lot mote Texas talent is staying home now.

The guy that kicked the game winning FG with 2 seconds left is from the neighborhood I was raised in.

On the professional side of things, the Parcell Cowboys have been a big disappointment this year as well. But what really sucks is now that football season is over with, there are no hockey games to watch.

But I just hate losing to The South. Especially Red States. Especially Texas (no offense). The only worse fate could be losing to a Florida team (*shudder*). I'm a really prejudiced northern Yankee.

Well, it's great that you've won after so long -- but you know how I (growing up with the Big 10) must feel about a Big 12 team winning the ROSE BOWL.

Man, 2 out of every 3 bowl games, the Wolverines fall flat.

But it seems to me that the Big 12 is now a dominant conference, and the PAC 10 is shaping up nicely as well. Is the Big 10 dead? Penn State? Ohio State? Michigan State used to even put together a great team once every 4 years or so.

Gotta love college ball. Dustin Magnum? What a name.

. . . but they beat the Mariucci Lions. After an awesome start the Lions fell off a freakin' cliff.

Just checking the lion's site. Looks like Shaun Rogers signed a six year deal. Says here he's a former Longhorn. Damn good D-End.

If there's anything encouraging me to move back to the states, it's the sports coverage.

Got this link? All the U of Texas football info. Easy to navigate.

They didn't.

Word has it the UT coach was a real class act. Cool.

I don't know which made me happier, the Rose Bowl or the outcome of the Nov. 2nd elections. :)
There's always next year. And we get to play OSU (not OK state) early next season. Hopefully we'll be making a lot more enemies from up north.
Mack Brown is a class act. It's too bad people had to jump all over him for pleading with AP voters to put his team past 'Cal'. Especially when noone said a word about Stoops running the scores up to please the BCS poll a couple of years ago.
The sad part is, college football is almost over for the season.

In retrospect, there's not a lot of shame in losing to Vince Young. Kind of an impressive individual.

And while I'm not from the South, I think deep down we all know they play the best football. The SEC is the best conference, by far, every year. Just be glad that you live in a part of the country that has more going for it than pigskin.
